What is Contact Shiatsu?

Contact Shiatsu is a holistic therapy that balances your body's vital energy (Qi) through precise, gentle touch—applying finger, palm, and elbow pressure along specific acupoints and meridian lines. Using techniques such as stretching, joint mobilization, and sustained pressure, this practice helps release energy blockages while nurturing both physical and emotional well-being.

What to Expect
​
​Each session is a personalized, collaborative exploration. You can choose between 60 or 90 minutes, fully clothed, on a comfortable futon on the floor.
We start with an open conversation to understand your current state.
With the very first session, a new contact with your own body begins. You connect with your breathing and your internal rhythm—your mind relaxes, your heart rate slows, and you receive a fresh supply of oxygen and deeper bodily awareness—rediscovering forgotten or tense areas with clarity and care.

Ongoing Sessions
​
With regular sessions—typically around four—you’ll notice a gentle shift.
You become more attuned to letting go of daily tension, more confident in addressing physical discomforts and emotional patterns that may limit you.

Addressing Underlying Trauma
​
Occasionally, underlying trauma may surface. In these instances, I provide respectful, calm, and nonjudgmental support as you navigate the process of acknowledging, experiencing, and healing these aspects. This approach is designed to create a safe and transformative space for your healing journey.

Rooted in Movement Shiatsu, my practice is enriched by years of Iyengar yoga, Zen meditation practice, Chinese medicine, and Gestalt psychotherapy tools—offering a deeply integrated healing experience.
